Oh, the strangest thing! It turns out that all the times we were listening to the music at home Nate was really into it. And he had been youtubing the show forever, but I didn't know. We didn't get him a ticket, but he was crushed that we didnt' know how much we loved it. he was the one that came with a pen and paper for autographs (including for his school teacher) and really asked to go get them. Amazing what you don't know about your kids!!!!
The girl who played Nessa is married to the actor who played Fiero, so in our play he was not only cheating on Galenda, but on Nessa at the same time not to mention cheating on Jess and Brook!!! All the actors were so sweet. They were very humble, and the ones who wore more costumes were very hard to tell who they were. Elphaba was the last out (for obvious reasons.) They didn't say anything but when we asked for autographs and pictures, they acted so pleased. It was awesome. The fan group was only like 7 people, maybe they don't get hounded much. Just a for instance - -the other people there had called Nessa over, so we were getting her autograph, and Fiero just hung back. I didn't know his real name so I said, "hey Mr Nessa. . .we would love your autograph too." He said he like the Mr nessa thing, and that he liked signing autographs, but it was wierd because you didn't want to go up to people and say, "Hey Im here, do you want my autograph?" They were so sweet. The guy with the guitar was the lead guitar in the orchestra. He was sweet too.
Our Elphaba was super wonderful. Hard to recognise. We did it by calling her name which by then we had learned was Donna. When she turned around, we decided it was her. I cried like a baby through most of the performance. I know that is not a normal reaction. I was just so happy. Those of you who have seen it did a great job of not telling certain parts of the play. Like the end. When I saw then end I cried borderline hysterically for half an hour. for those who remember watching movies with me when i was young, you will remember it is pretty normal for me!!!!! Sorry about the red eye, if I fix them later, I might repost, but probably not!

What a great night! One day I will try to go see it. How cool to be able to talk with and get pics of the cast!
I'm so glad that you got to go see it, and my younger kids would be jealous to know that Nate saw it. But when we went to see it tickets were about $90 apiece...so they were severely rationed!
It is an amazing show. And yes the ending is beautiful. I had tears in my eyes too...
(BTW--are you talking about going to see "Taps", Marg? One of the traumatic events of my adolescence! ;) )
TAPS it was!!!!!! funny!!!
Hey, I definitely cried.
And did I mention that I AM INSANELY JEALOUS?!?!?!?!?!?!
