AND THE WINNER IS...... KENT WA!!!!!!!

So. This may be more of a post for our individual BLOG but I thought you might all enjoy this little life experience and associated Web site.

So for a long time now Maria and I have debated where we want to end up. We have talked pros and cons, Likes and dislikes and since now we have moved all over creation we are starting to feel like we at least have experienced some of what this country has to offer.

So the debate has continued. And we have come up with some simple exclusions. Which we wont include in this post. Basically we dont wanna live in the south other than NC, we dont wanna live in CA at all or In Washington DC. We do want to live in a medium sized town large enough to have a Costco, and a Nice theatre, We would like Green meaning trees and a fledgling ward or branch in the chruch. The perfect place would have mild summers seing as the scorching venezuelan summers/winters have forever turned me off of LONG HOT DAYS and nights.

We would like Winters that could have snow but not winters that are 7 months long of sub -20 weather (Cough, rexburg) So the debate has continued, We even printed off a map of the entire US, and crossed off states that we had no interest in living in vs States we were very interested in and those we knew nothing about. IE, no california, no alabama, no missisipi, no new mexico. For whatever reason we were interested in the Pacific North West and Asheville NC, because we like the climate and the size and composition of the church in those areas.

SO this morning we were discussing AGAIN what we wanted to do with our lives and Maria in the discussion Found web site. Called FINDYOURSPOT.com it is probably a 10-15 minute long quiz on how strongly you feel about one thing or another, Now keep in mind the only area we know alot about and have had any inclination towards is Asheville. After filling the info in completely KENT WA, was the winner of our list. However the suprising part was that Asheville came up as #3 on our list of 2o and we NEVER mentioned, anything about region or anything. So we are thinking that the winner may be worth a look. So...... ANYONE UP for a ROAD TRIP TO KENT?

Everyone feel free to post where this formula thinks your perfect place to live is. the web site asks for address and email but that is it and it was a fun quiz. Love you all Jeremy and Maria

been there, done that.
a month and a half of my mission was in Kent, Washington. Beautiful place, nice size, a little big for my tastes.
The church there is quite good (i think Kent has 2 stakes). the downside??? they had missionaries that had prescription LIGHT BULBS!!! to fight off the depression of 105 days straight without direct sunlight.
Beautiful place to live... I approve.
The other 2 places i were were Puyallup, Washington, and Maple Valley, Wa. 3 months in Maple valley were my favorite up there.

yah nice thing is At the moment the employment can be anywhere. So we may visit yon washington in one of my many summers of sales and see how it compares. Heck cant be worse than DC.

Also sam, We understood that Kent had much lesser rainfall than many other areas of washington? not the case?

My top 6 were all in the South! Hickory, NC being at the top. Maybe they needed to include a question about aversion to rednecks!!!. I love where we live, but sometimes long for the blue ridge mountains, the wind whispering through the trees, the lightning bugs......

so i just retook the quiz again, and answered it exactly opposite of how i really feel, and it gave me the answers that also make sense. places like VEGAS and San Jose. two of my least faveorate parts of the country bar none. I think It is legit. What type of crazy formula are they usin.

Hickory EH? where were the others Andra?

I've been to Hickory, NC it was really pretty and had a pretty good ward :)

Just for the record we will probably only go there if there is an office there for security or we go on vacation there.

You know. ONe of my college roomates grew up in Kent, WA. She and her family seem like very well rounded smart people. As for me and my house, we will try to stick near family for a while (and where there is a job.)

LOL we have been playing with this web site for 2 days now. When we changed the city size from medium to small BREVARD and Hendersonville!!!!! when we changed it to all sizes included. Kent again. ROFL this site is so rediculous.

I wonder how much these cities pay to have their names included!

My aunt and uncle live in Kent. If you're REALLY serious I could ask them some probing questions.
