Cole at 2yrs 9months sunday21 2010
Amazing what kids can achieve when you just push them mercilessly. And he swims as well as he rides, almost across the pool by himself before it closed in August. One of out ROTC buds said when Jenny and I got married, that with our genes, if we'd just give him our two first kids, he'd turn them into Olympic athletes. Well, I think they stand a better chance here at home, with a dad who pushes them physically and a mom who pushes them mentally. I'm already teaches them the basics of tennis, while Jenny covers schooling, piano, and art as well, to cover all the bases.

Anybody?
I have a very nice pile of family names from mom's side. I was wondering if the adults in Utah might consider doing an temple afternoon or evening to get some of the endowments and sealings done. Bob and I are plugging away at this, but at best seem to get only 2 male names and 2 female names done in a month. Maybe we could all plan to go to Timp, Draper, or even Bountiful and squeeze in 2 sessions (I have never done that yet) and then all go to dinner or something? Might be nice to do it while Dad and Ramona are here with us.
Let me know if you are interested and we'll start thinking up dates that might work!

The Halloween Sacrifice
Jared has made the ultimate sacrifice for his Halloween costume this year. Rachel, Jenna, and Jared have watched all of the Avatar The Last Airbender episodes, so it wasn't a surprise that he wanted to be The Last Airbender. For those of you in the know, it would require a bit of sacrifice to get this costume. I'll let the thousand word pictures tell the rest of the story.

DNA vs. Personal interests
Nate may look a lot like our dad, and our brother Jeremy
BUT
Robby is really starting to remind me of my brother
VAL
He saved 1/4 of his summer earnings to buy his dream machines.
For most 17 year olds, this would have been a car, or a motorcycle -
Alas, for Robby, it is a sound board and speakers that are bigger than EVAN!!!!!

Did John Grant's DNA Survive?
So the big question is. . .Did John Grants DNA survive? Sure a couple of his sons have a passing resemblance, but how about the next generation? Recently an almost random stranger pointed out that my child (who I thought might be a switched at birth child because of the other childrens resembling of either Cynthia Riggs or Nathan Pace) actually looked like the older gentleman in the picture in our living room.
Suddenly, my eyes were opened and I realized that I had seen that nose, those lips and that eye shape before. I gotta say, even though I have thought this particular kid was good looking for at least 5 months, I now enjoy looking at him in a whole different way.

Officially official
Brent and I had a fun date to the DR. this morning. Being sick for 3 weeks straight will do that do you. So, this is what we find out.
1-I am a girl
2-I now have about 1/2 cup less blood
3-I know the complete definition of "clean catch" sample
4-Stratton number 4 is due on our anniversary date
5-The "blueberry" has a great strong heartbeat
5-It is all by itself for the next 7 months
6-I will probably continue to be sick for 4-6 more weeks
7-Except for the sick part we are excited!

Is This Your Skirt??
At the end of August I was sorting through laundry in the laundry hall of shame. I came upon this skirt--a very cute skirt, but completely unfamiliar to me. I am having quite a time finding an owner for it. Does it belong to you? (It's cute enough that if I could, I would just adopt it and wear it. But that would require not having had triplets or having plastic surgery, one or the other...)

Emerald Isle 2010
Here is a little fun memory for my wonderful sibs. Enjoy! Make sure you let it load all the way first, and if it is stuttering you may need to watch it on a different computer. (It won't play on mine, but does ok on our desktop.)

Before and After
For those of you who remember, my awesome neighbor in Pennsylvania gave me this great table. It has been put through some pretty stiff torture and has withstood everything! However, finally over this last week I thought it was time for it to get a make-over. Soon my chairs will be completed and I will have a "set" put together from $5 chairs and a free table.

Vacation Incentive
The little kids are thrilled. The big kids - not so much.
Our incentive for the trip this summer involves doing chores to earn some of these:
The only catch is - we are practicing delyaed gratification. Every prize they earn goes into their "trip backpack". Then I will sort their prizes by the legs of the trip - drive to Denver, first flight,
second flight, and drive to Vermont.
The big kids are not very interested in the toys, exp. Robby and John. Any suggestions for what I sell to them to make their trip more fun?
