Be There or Be Square

For all of you withing driving distance:

Remember it's Robby's Eagle Court of Honor tonight. Our ward is not really great about these sorts of things, so I'm depending on family to make it a very special event! I did think about doing a family dinner beforehand, knowing that food is the only reason anyone ever drives ALL THE WAY DOWN HERE! But then my head threatened to explode, so we will be feeding you cake and ice cream afterwards.

Andra,
We need a few more hours notice next time!
I would have brought some of that yummy pasta/chicken/cucumber salad!

Hey,
I know just how you can make it up to me....
How about posting the recipe? I was just craving that the other day!

And a big thanks to everyone who was able to make it down for the court of honor. It ran a little longer than expected, and one man was particularly long winded, but we were so grateful to have our family there to celebrate with us.
We are oh, so proud!
BTW - plan on sometime in early 2009 for John's court of Honor!

I'm so glad we were able to be there! I tried to find you at the end to say good-bye, but you had vanished. But thank you for the invite, and I have to say that when #1) John and the other scout carried in the flag and #2) when Robbie was speaking, I totally got choked up. I was about to cry and he isn't even mine! I'll be a wreck at Carter's.

Amber,
I wish I could have seen you afterwards, but I was dishing up cake and ice cream and then cleaning up. Thank you again for coming down. I know that when you multiply 8 by blessings, baptisms, Eagle Courts of Honor and Mission farewells and homecomings, it is just not possible to get everyone here for all 40 events, but it sure is nice to have that family support! I, too, choked up a number of times. Something about my babies getting so big.
