for those who don't know

i have a job now.
Em and I are still in Rexburg. It is still snowing here. Occasionally.
Last i posted, I was looking for work as a Service Advisor. The options were a job in Pocatello (A Large dealership called Lithia) or Rexburg (A service desk at a used car lot), at least i think i posted those conundrums.
Well, anyway, After interviewing with both, i decided that i'd keep in contact with Lithia and stay in rexburg for work acquiring experience in preparation for our next move to somewhere more temperate (sorry Margaret).
So, I work for Thrifty Car Sales now.
It's awesome, because instead of just comming into a fully functioning dealership at full speed and feeling dumb and dead to start with, i am in a slightly struggling smaller independant shop, with ties to the largest dealership in rexburg.
So, I get to get faster as our business comes up. I am really happy with the decision to stay local... also, My commute to Pocatello would have been 1 hour 15 minutes each way. now my commute is 1.15 miles. which would you prefer?

What else? My Emily is awesome. Our apartment is nice and warm, and our pathway is almost without snow... or was before this morning when we got a snow that looked suspiciously like Dippin' Dots ice cream...
Theres the update, if anyone was asking "what ever happened to sam in his search for a job". oh, yeah, my brain damage is getting better too. turns out working with numbers all day long is the cure for playing video games and trying to get blown up for a year. Cool, huh?

Congratulations Sam! What are your responsibilities at work? Are you SELLING cars, or repairing them, or renting them to customers? I thought Thrifty was in the car RENTAL business. Do you give special discounts for friends and relatives? We love you guys and hope to be up to see you soon.

Sorry I couldn't be first on your blog. Who is thrifty's parent company? I travel ALL THE TIME so I will patronize thrifty or its parent company whenever they meet the government rate.

Oh my gosh! I know EXACTLY what kind of dippin dots snow you are talking about. And I can even sort of tell you why it gets made, because Sara and I thought it was so weird that we looked it up on the internet!!! Haha.

there are a number of Thrifty Car sales offices throughout the country... it's a used car lot. We have 4 car lifts and 2 flat (no lift) bays in the building. A year ago, the Toyota and Chrysler dealer in town (called Stones Town and Country)bought 2 used car lots in Idaho falls, and 2 here in Rexburg.
The Franchise for Thrifty Car Sales is still in effect, but our parent company is local. Thanks for the thought, Grant.
My job is sitting at the Service Desk and helping customers get their cars serviced.
I give discounts to employees at a rate of cost + 10%, and i am allowed to give good deals to friends and family, but not quite that good. my discount (for my jeep and ems car) comes out to a little under half price. nice, eh?
p.s. if dad and NANNA would like to come and visit, em needs an adjustment as badly as anyone i know (we might have to hit her on the head to knock her out to get her to cooperate) and i could use one, too...
much love-
Sam

Hey, if Sam and Val BOTH came to the beach they could catch up all they needed, in the sun, in the water, in the house, sharing prescription drugs, etc...Just thought I would put a plug in for the beach trip!
