Triplet fun

I just can't tell you guys how great 7 year old triplets are. I was feeling bad the other day because Andra was talking about how much in love with her little baby she is, and I thought--I don't know if I was ever that in love with my babies. They were really stressful to me, especially when they came in groups of 3! But then I realized that I am in love with these 7 year olds. They are so cute and just so good and fun. Their most recent feat is learning how to play mancala so that they can beat me at it most of the time. Grandpa taught Jared to say "I cooked your goose" when he wins, and my goose has been cooked often in the last few days.

Here is Jared with a bunch of pictures he drew the other day while the girls were busy playing "girl stuff." He made a bunch of superheros, and then we all had to vote on who we liked best. My personal favorite was "the Bob."

The other morning we were reading in 3rd Nephi where Moroni says something about engraving these things on plates. Of course that needed a little discussion--"why didn't he just write on paper, mom?" I explained that Mormon wrote the Book of Mormon and then Moroni put it in the ground for almost 2000 years before Joseph Smith got it. I said that because he wrote on metal plates, it would last for 2000 years. Then I took our Book of Mormon and said that if we buried *it* in the ground for 2000 years it would fall apart. And then Rachel said, with an anxious voice, "And that would be bad, because we *need* that book!"

Tonight after Rachel said her prayer I complimented her on having thought about what she was going to say instead of saying exactly the same thing. (Like she does every other night.) She asked me why in church people said exactly the same prayers for the sacrament? I explained that the sacrament prayers are prayers that Jesus has told us need to be said in exactly that way every time. Then she was concerned about how the boys could remember to say the sacrament prayer just right every time. I told her that they have a card so that they can read it so they say it just right. Then she got this totally horrified look on her face and said "But Mom, then they'll have their eyes OPEN!" It was all I could do not to LOL.

Last story, I promise. Jenna was saying her prayer tonight. She said "And thank you for sending me to earth to gain a body where I can be happy...........sometimes....

Aren't kids great!

I TOLD you when they were running and screaming from the lavender scented bubbles at the age of 2 or 3 that someday they were going to be cool!!!!! And is "the Bob" a superhero version of Uncle Bob Stowe? Or just a nod to the fact that he already is? And if so, what are his super powers? I learned about the sacrament card when I was about 30. . . I was still kind of scandalized. :)

Josh's favorite name is "Bob." He names everything "Bob." His favorite new thing is to sign the credit card thing for me at Walmart. Well he signed "Bob the Hobo" last time and the checker freaked out and canceled the whole transaction. So the fascination with "Bob" has more to do with Josh than with Bob, the original Bob....

First, Cindy, your seven year olds do seem really cool! What a great bunch of funny stories. I hope you are writing these things down somewhere that you won't forget them.
Second - the whole bob thing was so funny! I can just imagine the freaked out cashier! I needed a good laugh tonight.

I am writing them down. Here. ;)

The cashier thing wasn't that funny in the moment, because she was so upset she paged the store manager. But the code that she put in was "customer emergency." Well I have never seen walmart people move so fast--literally, 2 managers ran to the electronics section within a minute. You see, they thought someone was bleeding...not that an idiot 12 year old had signed something funny on the pen-pad...with his idiot mother's permission!!!
