KItchen pics

Hey everyone. Well, I posted some pictures of our kitchen project on our statt blog. So, I had wanted to put them here too but the kids are going wild, so I will post one sneak peak, and then you can click on the like on the right to "Laila's blog" and see the rest.

i love the back spash. em says nice design...
bravo.. can't wait till we can buy and do some remodeling of our own.

are there going to be pulls for the cabinets, or are you just keeping the flat simple surfaces?

nice work again.

oh yeah, there will be drawer pulls. However, we splurged and got the home depot cheapy special cabinets and I am still working at getting the cabinet/drawer fronts to line up correctly. When I accomplish that goal THEN I will put on the handles, because quite honestly, opening these suckers is near impossible!

I can second the near impossibility of opening Lailas cabinets. The weekend I was there I almost got little blisters on all my finger tips! I am rooting for knobs!

Jenny and I are pre-house looking again, and training/deployments willing, we may actually take zee plunge! Then we can have something to remodel. Or build in, as in el se los de los este... basemento. Fun!!

You know, for the time and money we've put into this house, we could have gotten a house that was newer and finished and didn't need it. However, Brent and I really enjoy doing these projects together. So, if it is not something you think you will enjoy think twice. Living in a construction zone has MANY negatives. I exclude basements thought. I think buying a house with an unfinished basement and working on that is a great idea.

CONGRATZULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys are my heroes really. Way to remodle and make a gross old house young again. When it is still there and we are all dust. I hope it remembers the people who made it young again. You guys are like the fountian of youth for that house. Think of the stories it will tell to the other houses on the block."well they gave me a tripple bypas kitchen replacement" and a "Stairway and carpet transplant" It was kinda touch and go there for a while but now I'm feeling better than ever."

Ben,

You have two options in our neighborhood. Our next door neighbors just moved and need to sell thier house that is just like ours but has a finished basment. Option #2
You can live with us for free while saving up for a down payment for your new house. We would only ask for some handyman help on finishing our basement in return.

Jeffro.

Hey, I wanna come live with Jeff and Amber too. Is there something wrong with me? First Andra, now Jeff and Amber too. Seriously people, we need to start that combine soon. Anyone up for everyone moving into that houses on Jeff and Ambers cul-de-sacs. Then we can have our kids bully all the other neighborhood kids off of the playground out back until they are sure that it is OURS--not theirs
